I would suggest getting outdoors as much as you can – be that in the garden or going for a walk (abiding by the social distancing rules). You can incorporate so many areas of the school curriculum in many ways; Baking/Cooking (maths – capacity/weight/fractions) – discussing measures such as grams, kilograms, millilitres and litres. Get them using mathematical language. Jigsaws – Great for spatial awareness and problem solving. Telling the time – What time is it? When is it dinner time? How long is left till? All again using the language of Maths. Length – Estimate how long the garden is; then measure it in feet/sticks or whatever instruments you may have to hand. Walks – Discuss the flowers/trees you see. Create a “Nature walk” trying to spot different things. (SESE and P.E) Gardening – Planting flowers, weeding or helping out. (SESE) Games/Colouring/Drawing/ Cycling/Explore/Build Dens/ Be Creative and HAVE FUN!!
